gave the keynote address “The Language Situation in Ukraine and Its Implications for the Teaching of Ukrainian in American Universities” 
at the Fourth International Conference “The Ukrainian Language in the World” at the National University of the Lviv Polytechnic, November 9, 2016. The previous day, Yuri Shevchuk gave an open public lecture entitled “Language Rights in Modern Political Theory and the Case of Ukraine” at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.
