Areas of Interest
I am interested in the relationship between poetry and prose. I wrote an undergraduate thesis on Dead Souls, arguing that Gogol’s poèma is a novelist’s reckoning with the death of Pushkin. At Columbia, I will pursue a certificate in Comparative Literature and Society. I intend to work on nineteenth-century Russian writers and their European counterparts. I also plan to do a comparative study of Red Cavalry and the Aeneid.
