Ukrainian at Columbia and then in Ukraine.
Enroll in the course of Elementary Ukrainian for 2019-2020 and become eligible for a new $7,200 fellowship to continue your language studies at the Intermediate level in Ukraine.
The Department of Slavic Languages has created a competitive fellowship for an intensive summer study of the Ukrainian language.
The fellowship competition is open to all students enrolled in Elementary Ukrainian in Fall 2019. One outstanding student of Elementary Ukrainian will be awarded the summer fellowship in the amount of up to $7,200 in order to study Intermediate Ukrainian within a fully immersive summer program in Ukraine in 2020. The fellowship recipient will be expected to continue studying Ukrainian at the Advanced level at Columbia in fall 2020.
The fellowship is to assist with costs for tuition, transportation, and lodging during the summer session in Ukraine.
This may be your chance to immerse yourself in the history and culture of a pivotal part of Europe and learn one of the most melodic languages in the world.
